Window cleaner loves hanging about (UK)

It would appear that one New Zealander likes nothing more than abseiling off large buildings to carry out a spot of window cleaning.

Nick Beadle works for Dunedin-based window cleaning company, See Through Windows, and has recently taken on his biggest job to date by cleaning the city's Otago House - a 13-storey building covered in black glass.

In previous years, a crane was used to clean the building and its windows. However, the recent addition of an extra three storeys has made abseiling a more effective method of window cleaning, although work in January was delayed by bad weather and high winds.

Mr Beadle told the Otago Daily Times: "I'm quite the attraction at the moment. There's been quite a few people looking up and quite a few taking photos."

The interview was conducted over a hands free mobile phone, with Mr Beadle speaking from the eighth storey of the building.

The city of Dunedin is found on the south east coast of New Zealand’s South Island. It is the country’s largest city by area, growing rapidly during the gold rushes in the 1860s.
